This is the ultimate oil pan for the Nissan VR38 engine series. We have improved the design and removed all weaknesses that constrained the madness. Our oil pan will get you an increased oil capacity, cooler oil temperatures, and overall a more reliable engine for MAD performance.
This is a highly recommended upgrade for everyone from OEM to those who have increased the power and use the car for active driving.
Why replace the oil pan?
The stock oil pan from Nissan is alright but it’s not as it should be - MAD. On higher revolutions air bubbles are introduced to the oil which decreases the pickup and drops the pressure, causing damage to engine bearings over time. We solved this using a deeper pan with a 1 Litre increased oil capacity and added a market-first baffle system. This eliminates the pickup issues, removes the air bubbles, and prevents oil from splashing on the back wall during hard accelerations.
Another weak point of the stock pan is the drain plug placement. It’s not located in the bottom which means you will not drain all the old oil during oil service. We placed our plug at the very bottom for easy maintenance.Â
Most pans for the Nissan GT-R is installed using sealing to prevent leakage, but this sealing often ends up inside the pan as small pieces that either blocks the pickup filter or gets through into the engine. Using sealing also means it’s a hassle if you want to detach the pan as you have to scratch off the dried sealing, clean the edges, and apply new sealing before attaching it again. Sealing is economical but has its disadvantages. At MAD we include an o-ring to seal the pan with ease every time.Â
TEST DATA
Tests made at Hockenheim ring in Germany with full-spec race car on slicks clearly show how effective the baffle system works on high Gs.
With OEM oil pan we measured oil pressure as low as 0.9 bar (13.0 psi) in some sharp corners and always when hard braking after the long straight.
With the MAD oil pan installed oil pressure never went lower than 2.74 bar! (39.74 psi)
COLOR OPTIONS
At MAD we offer all our billet aluminum products in 5 different anodized color options. Anodizing increases resistance to corrosion and wear which means a better-protected product and at the same time gives it a mad color finish to separate your build from the rest.
Our MAD GT-R Intake Manifold is also available with a mix-of-colors option, where you can assign a different color to each part to create a truly mad look in your engine bay.
