HKS MR-Series Super Fire Racing spark plugs are high-performance Iridium plugs designed to handle advanced levels of tuning and provide Improved ignition performance, durability, and anti-carbon build-up.
The HKS M12 Long Reach Sparkplug with protruding electrode for such vehicles as the Honda Civic Type R and Suzuki Swift Sport. The lineup is equivalent to NGK No. 8 and No. 9 heat values. New series of plugs inherits the best from the existing M series and features Ruthenium Alloy Electrode to provide a reliable spark for all vehicles, including vehicles with increased boost or lightly tuned vehicles. On top of extended lifetime, the use of Ruthenium alloy allows a better fuel burn, resulting in quicker throttle response, smoother idle, and better cold starts.

- Ruthenium Alloy Center Electrode reduces voltage requirements as well as ignition performance improvement and durability.
- Brass Terminal offers film fitting to plug wire or coil-pack.
- Plating coating for better insulation and excellent corrosion resistance.
- Outer electrode with platinum square chip improves ignition, maximum durability, combustion speed, and quality.
- The outer electrode has been shortened and engineered with the ideal shape to decrease weight for resistance against vibration.
The tuning parts are also evolving with the appearance of spark plugs in consideration of fuel efficiency improvement and environmental performance. The use of spark plugs with an ignition position projecting 2 mm more than usual has been increasing.
As you are aware, in sports vehicles such as the new Honda Civic Type R and Suzuki Swift Sport, this type of spark plug has also been adopted. We expect more and more cars will use this type of spark plug in the future.
Details on spark plug sizes
The original shape of the Suzuki Swift Sport (XL projecting type) is a bracket projecting type, but HKS adopts a shell projecting type to improve resistance against pre-ignition resistance and securing strength.
