The 3J Driveline SVS UL-Trac Helical Gear-Bias Front Limited Slip Differential is the result of more than three decades of Nissan GT-R drivetrain development. Designed specifically for high-performance road and motorsport applications, it provides significantly improved front-end traction while maintaining the smooth driving characteristics of the factory open differential.

Over 30 Years of GT-R Differential Development

Special Vehicle Services (SVS) pioneered the use of torque-biasing front differentials for the Nissan GT-R platform, introducing its first units in 2003 after extensive testing proved that conventional clutch-type and ratcheting LSDs produced undesirable steering behaviour during everyday driving.

Unlike plated differentials, which can cause harsh engagement, steering kickback and poor low-speed manoeuvrability, the SVS torque-biasing design delivers predictable power transfer while preserving excellent road manners.

The result is a front differential that feels almost identical to the factory open differential during normal driving, yet provides substantially improved traction and stability whenever grip is limited.

UL-Trac Helical Gear-Bias Technology

The latest UL-Trac differential represents the next generation of torque-biasing technology.

Featuring redesigned helical gears, optimised tooth profiles and increased contact surfaces, the UL-Trac maximises torque transfer while reducing wear. Heavy-duty preload springs maintain consistent performance throughout the life of the differential.

Rather than relying on clutch plates, the internal helical gear arrangement automatically transfers torque to the wheel with the greatest available traction whenever wheel slip occurs.
