Tomei Expreme exhaust manifold is now available for SR20 owners who want a performance upgrade from the genuine exhaust manifold. With this product, you can retain the genuine setup and no special modifications are needed to fit the standard turbo.
With the SR20DET the exhaust manifold was designed to be close from the exhaust port to the turbine.
With the comparison test of their isometric prototype & the factory genuine manifold which also utilizes the same layout, it shows that they have succeeded in delivering an overall improved performance in both torque and power increase in areas like in the higher RPM range in which you were not able to utilize before. With their extensive testing, they have reached the conclusion that the normal design is superior to total overall efficiency.
So to develop an exhaust manifold similar to the design and setup of the factory manifold they were finally able to produce a product worthy to bear their name as a product that has the potential to deliver an overall increase in performance.
Here at Tomei, we have 2 engine Dyno rooms dedicated to heavy testing and research and development. Day in and day out we just test and build daily with our passion. From running the bench testing it is the best way to find the efficiency of the engine through all power ranges whilst pushing the engine's durability to the limits. All data is logged and tested for accurate testing and attention to detail on the efficiency of the product for finding the best results.
Through extensive testing, and trial and error we have tried various pipe sizes and combinations to find the best possible results for the highest possible performance in all RPM ranges.
